TGF Hoppin' Into the Holidays

Oh let me tell you how very excited I am to be part of this amazing blog hop! I love...no LOVE The Greeting Farm and all the wonderful designs that Marie has for us. She and Jess are so personable and giving. To be part of this hop is a dream for me...don't pinch me...I don't want to wake up if it is just a dream...LOL!

If you didn't start at the beginning of the hop and are just popping in for a visit, please click HERE and follow through to the end. There could be a prize in there somewhere for you. Thats right! Jess and Marie were feeling generous with this one and are giving away...are you ready?

The ENTIRE DECEMBER RELEASE!!!! What an INCREDIBLE PRIZE!

Now, I'd like to take a moment to share my little project with you. Snow is one of those natural wonders that makes me feel like a child each time I see it. Especially the first snow of the season. It evokes a certain joy that few other things can deep within me. I've been known to bundle up and walk for the pure joy of walking in a white wintery storm, prance around with my tongue sticking out as I try to get a flake as it descends upon me, decorate my home in blues and silvers with lots of glittery snowflakes hanging from doorways and windows, instigate a snow ball fight or two...I LOVE the SNOW!

Mix my adoration for The Greeting Farm and snow together and you get this little project that I created specifically for this occassion. I sincerely hope you enjoy it. Please finish the entire "Hoppin' Into the Holidays" Blog Hop because there are so many phenomenal projects just waiting for you to discover them.

No, the rhinestone flourishes didn't come that way. I put them on one at a time...I kick myself because there are about twenty hiding behind Miss Anya...guess I should have planned that one better...LOL!

The word "snow" is actually a cheepie from WalMart. It is a table decoration. You can pick up a pack for like a dollar! I just colored mine over in a Holiday Blue Copic and then added more sparkle with some Stickles.

With a little added light you can almost see the frost...hehehe...

Recipe: Miss Anya - Rain Snow Shine; DCWV Winter Combo Matstack; Copic Markers; Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Broken China; Memento Ink - Tuxedo Black; Rangers Stickles - Icicle; misc. rhinestones in clear and green; snowflake punch; 3-D Square Adhesives

Now, if you need to be directed back to the hop...and I know you do...just click HERE and it will take you back to where it is ALL Happening! Don't forget to leave your comments.
Keep your hands busy!

ACLP Challenge #64 - Colors: Red - Green - White

Color is the subject of this week's challenge at A Crafty Little Place. Our Designers worked with the Jovial DP. I'm not a holiday person, however, the seasonal design of this paper inspired me to create a wintery card.

Here is what the Jovial DP looks like in the 6x6 sample pack available at DCRU...

Here is my little tent card. I added an Ian and Anya from The Greeting Farm. The sentiment is a freebie that I received this summer from Simon Says Stamp. I finally got the chance to break it out and I really love how it helps to build this card.

Jovial DP; Ian and Anya from TGF; Memento Ink; 3-D Dots; Quickutz nesting Scalloped Circles; Copics
misc. velvet ribbon; rhinestones; snowflake punch; Stickles

Hope you enjoyed my little post. Stop by and visit us at ACLP.

Well, if  you haven't jumped on the easel band wagon, now is your chance! We are having a card challenge all about the easel. If you aren't sure how to do them we aren't leaving you in the cold either. Sheri did a tutorial last week for us and you can view it HERE.

The gals and I worked with the Togetherness DP line from Cosmo Cricket. I love this one!
You can try it out in the super 6x6 sample packs at Die Cuts R Us too.

Here is the card I made this week. I really enjoyed doing this one. It seems like forever since I've made a card. Guess that's what I get for catching the bugs the kids had...LOL!

ACLP Challenge #59 - Sketchy Treasure Hunt

This week we have a 2 step challenge! First is this crazy sketch I desinged:

So, here is what I did with the sketch...I went old school on my coloring...used MS Markers. Let me just say...yuck! I just can't enjoy coloring without my COPICS!

The next part is a TREASURE HUNT! For what? For DP...

You get to hop on over to the post at A Crafty Little Place and check out what each of the DTs has created. Next, figure out what dp they used from the Die Cuts R Us inventory.

Once you figure out which DP each designer has used, send the list to me in an email at
busylittlehands (@) sbcglobal (dot) net

Did I mention there is a prize for the person who gets the most dps correct? Well, that is where the treasure comes in.

BTW...The little Anya was inspired by my dear friend, Jessica of Whimsical Butterfly. She's wearing the pink this month in a very fetching strip of hair...It really looks good too! Check out her new do on her FB or Blog Pic.

Because Breast Cancer Awareness is close to my heart ( I had a scare several years ago and three lumps removed myself ) I will be using a lot of pink. So, if you don't like pink...avoid my blog. LOL!

Club Anya's Monday Mania Hostess:

Can you believe that the Hostess this week for the Club Anya & FriendsMonday Mania Challenge is none other than...MEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

I'm so super excited about this. Let me tell you a little about the challenge. It is a Sketchipe. (That is a Sketch plus a Recipe. So I'm calling it a Sketch - a - pea.) Goofy, why of course it is...this is me we are talking about folks. Now on for the fun!

The Sketch
Designed by Gwen A. Hesson
Follow the sketch as close as possible. You may use variations on the sketch as long as you can tell the original sketch is there.

Monday Mania Sketch

The Recipe
You must use at least two of the following techniques on your project:

*Inking
*Painting
*Stitching
*Embossing

Now here is what I did with this challenge.

Card
This little gem has it all. Sketch based design, stitching, painting, embossing, inked edges and even distressed edges. I really had fun working on this.

Memento Ink-Tuxedo Black

Lay Out

In this little lay out I used some super fun papers by Nikki Sivils. They are all pet based in this set, "Bella Blue and Oscar Too". They worked so well with my girls and their pinks. Little Aubrey was sporting piggy tails for the very first time. She just looks so ornery in them. She and Sadie, our family dog, were having such a fun day together. I had to get a photograph. Sadly, Sadie was camera shy.

I managed to follow the sketch very well on this one. Also did inking on the edges using my Tim Holtz Distressing Inks. Embossed the matting behind our sweet little Amelia image from TGF. (Doesn't she reflect little Aubrey and her piggy tails perfectly?)

Tim Holtz Distressing Ink - Scattered Straw
Cuttlebug Swiss Dots Embossing Folder

Now head on over to the Club Anya & Friends Blog and join into this fun. Can't wait to see what the Design Team comes up with there!

This week's challenge at DCRU is based on the MME Lush Paper Line.
We are asking that you pick one of the sensational colors from the line and pair it up with white. That's it! Two colors. See what you can do.

Here is what I put together.

I've been really sick the past few days and this is just a modest card. However, my girls on the DT have some superb examples for you to get inspired by. You can view them HERE.

I've got an Inspiration Post

If you click HERE you can view my Inspiration Post at the DCRU DT Blog. I have several more samples of work there for your enjoyment. I've been up way too long taking care of sick children and crafting to meet deadlines. I may just collapse if I have to add all of my pics...hahaha.

Sooooo, here is a little peek at one of the projects I did for DCRU and the rest (five in total) can be viewed over there.

Keep your hands busy...it is National Crafting Month after all...

Altered Notebook for Talisha

Here is a little school notebook that I altered for my niece, Talisha.Using an Anya cheerleader stamp, I first stamped an image then, scanned it into the computer. Pulling up in Adobe I then resized it to get the much larger size. After printing I used some paper tolle work to make her pom-poms, hair bows, skirt and letter "A" pop out more.

I also used a sentiment from the Butterfly Wishes stamp set from TGF. Also my Cuttlebug and embossing folder to creat the background for our little cheerleader.

The sketch used is from the Anyone For Anya Challenge which is going on right now! Hope you liked peeking at my little creation. Thanks for stopping by.

Smiles!
