Crafty Resume

My name is Gwen A. Hesson. I have lived in Ohio my entire life and reside in a rural community with my husband, Todd and two (of our four) daughters. Paper crafting is one of my favorite hobbies. My other hobby love is sewing. I find they are both wonderful creative outlets and quite therapeutic at times.

I've been scrapping since 1999. I started with a lot of enthusiasm but not much talent or design. I'm a firm believer in journaling even though I sometimes don't do this myself. I do not have a professed style at this time. I generally sit down with an idea and let the lay out take on its own design.

Scrapbooking Philosophy: I believe that there is no right or wrong way to create. You should be free to express yourself and celebrate your memories in what ever way best reflects you and your personality. I have heard so many sad stories from people who have been criticized to the point that their joy is crushed and they no longer want to scrapbook. (I have personally worked hard to "rehabilitate" several of these sad souls. Being a "scrapping coach" to help encourage and motivate is a good feeling.) On that note: Never, {NEVER}, tell someone they didn't do it right and for goodness sakes...it is {Morally Wrong} and irresponsible to ever pull apart someone else's work if you weren't asked to do so!!!! Yes! These things have happened to friends of mine...hence the "coaching".

Card making has been something that I fell into a few years ago. Again, not much talent but I really enjoy the process.

Goals:

1. To work on my projects that mean the most to me and not allow myself to feel behind. This is a hobby, it shouldn't stress you out. Enjoy the process!
2. Create a nurturing creative space in my studio, where I can actually find my supplies.
3. Continue to learn new techniques and not be afraid to experiment with my artistic abilities.
4. Strive to capture better photographs to cherish with my family for years to come.
