Altered Art and DCRU HUGE Announcement!

Well this week's challenge at the DCRU DT Blog is on creating a project with a holiday feel. Now, many of you may know that I am huge on decorating for the seasons...I like to do up the house in snowflakes and snow themed items during the winter. Todd is big on the twinkle lights, so we compromise on the clear lights...I'm not a colored light kind of girl. In keeping with my theme this winter season (yeah, I know, it is technically still fall) I've done a couple of projects.

1) A fun little night light. I used a galvanized bucket from Michaels, some snow themed felt ribbon and die cut from "My Big Ideas", my crop-a-dile and some snowflake eyelets, a set of 20 clear lights and a garland of what look like snowballs. When you put it all together you get what appears to be a bucket of glowing snowballs. Fun for the kids!

2) A fun little vase that I'm using to hold potpourri. I bought a very inexpensive glass vase at Wally World for $2.00. Used my Quickutz 4x4 Snowflake die, 4x8 Harvest Alpha, a CC Designs Digi (Emma in Winter) some stickles, ribbon and misc. silver embellies. Oh and lets not forget my COPICS! Here is what I ended up with...

I hope you enjoyed my little creations. For a peek at some other great seasonal items pop on over the the DCRU DT Blog where you can look over out DT designs and our current challenge participants. While you are there...check out the major announcement that came today...the chance to win a Quickutz Epic Six Die Cutting Machine (own it...LOVE it) and a grab bag of dies from Quickutz to go with it! Oh, I'm not joking about this. Click HERE to get all the details and please, spread the word, let all of your crafty friend know.

I'm off to bed, just realized it was 3:00 AM again...this happens every time I take Excedrine for a headache! My day will begin way too soon...

Keep your hands busy and enjoy each moment...let no blessing go without giving thanks...no matter how small.

Smiles!
Gwen
