Sunday Happenings

This coming week is going to be busy for most. Lots of families gathering, traveling, eating, shopping, getting on each other's nerves, making memories and being grateful to have done it all. In all of the hustle and bustle, don't forget to stop by the Die Cuts R Us Store and check out the Black Friday specials that, Claudia will have for you. While you are there, sign up for the DCRU newsletter, it offers information on specials and even the occassional discount code. Not only that but you'll get a heads up on new product additions, etc.

The format for the DCRU DT Blog will be a little different this week. Each day you will find a fresh post, but something special and unique. I think everyone will enjoy this special format and I know I'm looking forward to it.

On a different note: I'm starting another blog, dedicated to writing. I used to love to write and had been fairly decent at it at one point. Not great mind you...just decent enough to do articles for the local paper and write a column for my corporation's newsletter. I had done some poetry at one point, making publication in an anthology of poetry. It was an honor for me.( I miss that side of myself and I'm trying to resurrect her.) My writing wasn't anything special which is where the name of my new blog is derived from: Little Pieces of Me...Ramblings of Pittance. However, I actually had several "reviews" from people who would read my articles and as pathetic as it may sound, I saved them in my "pick me up" file. Reading those words, knowing that my thoughts made a difference to someone else...well, it reminded me that once upon a time I did make a valid contribution to a few people, but a contribution none-the-less. I need to feel that again. I need to find my way back to me and I think this is the best way to get there. If I can brighten someone else's day in the process...well, that is just icing on the cake. It is what will keep me motivated to continue and strive to create better and brighter pieces.

Some of those pieces will soon be in the way of assignments. It is my intention and hope that I can be enrolled in a writing course at our local community college. Now, I'm not sure what type of class, it could be whatever is available as a pre-req for the time being, but I will take what I can get. If my learning can enhance my creative process then I'm all for it. Perhaps, in time, I'll be writing well enough to keep you all coming back.

On that note...keep your hands busy, keep your loved ones close in heart, be safe and take care until next time...

Smiles!

  2. Congrats on the new blog, Gwen. I, too, love to write and also share my (eh-hem) opinions LOL on certain things..but seriously, I sometimes feel like my card blog, esp. when working for other co's doesn't always give me the freedom to express myself the way I want to all the time..so I am all for it! Can't wait to see where it leads you. Hugs!
