A Few New Projects
Well, I was motivated to create these projects because of the SPCC #7 Challenge. (Colors listed above.)Once I started playing with my papers...I couldn't stop. I had my Basic Grey's (Urban Prarie and Lemonade), my K&Co rub-ons, a couple of the new Prima stamps, some Tim Holtz Distressing Ink, Martha Stewart's Circle Cutter and a good movie. I started with a 12x12 piece of Basic Grey paper from the Lemonade Collection and a picture of me and my dearest BFF. Yes, this is the notorious best friend, Sheryl, we have been the best of friends since we were seven years old...THIRTY YEARS!!! It is a bitter-sweet realization.
I did my 12x12 LO and decided that I had enough scraps to do an 8x8. This pic wasn't planned...after a lovely day with my Todd on our "date" this afternoon I knew I had to do something with us in it. This pic is one of my favorites of our wedding reception. We were married out of state but had a reception at home to celebrate with our friends and family. It was a great evening.
Once the 8x8 was complete I noticed the extra piece of cardstock was perfect for a small card. So, I scored it and folded it and now have an adorable 4x4 card made from scraps (even the inside is decorated).
I now have to admit that when I saw the color combo my immediate reaction was...eewww...what am I going to do with this? Well, obviously...a lot! Funny how things that we may not think we are interested in can turn out to be some of the most inspiring things we come across. So glad I played along!
Well friends and fellow crafters...it's early in the wee hours of the morn and I'm so very tired. Until the next time...be safe and keep those hands busy!
Smiles!
Gwen

What wonderful uses of the color combo. On the first one, the circles really serve to accent the wonderful photo!
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job!! They say, you should use the scraps you have, as you make them, rather than putting them in a "scrap box", because you will never use them. Obviously, they are right, because you rocked the challenge, and made great things from the scraps!!

ReplyDeleteThere have been a few times I've wondered how I was going to use a color combo and then that ends up being the one that I do the most with!
